BOSTON HEALTH ADVOCATES
Please meet our team.
Stacey batista, md
Dr. Stacey Batista is a graduate of Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, where she also completed her internship in Medicine/Surgery in 2007. During a ten year hiatus from medicine taken to care for two young children and ailing parents, she experienced firsthand the demands on family and caregivers in managing elderly family members with serious health conditions, including pancreatic cancer, Alzheimer’s dementia and heart disease. Her inside knowledge of the cogs and workings of the medical world played a crucial role in the good health outcomes of her relatives and in relieving their stress and anxiety. The experience made clear the need patients have for a level of support that currently does not exist in our healthcare system.
Dr Batista is particularly interested in working closely with clients to help them to define what is most important to them in their lives as they face challenging health diagnoses and then supporting them as they navigate through.
Brita Lundberg, MD
An infectious diseases specialist and internist, Dr. Brita Lundberg was an assistant professor at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta when she decided to step away from practice to care for ailing parents and family. She has extensive experience advocating for patients with congestive heart failure, Parkinson's, celiac disease and Type 1 diabetes.
Dr. Lundberg is passionate about helping clients navigate the medical world with confidence. Her greatest satisfaction lies in helping people find their way through the medical maze so they have some idea of what to expect and to understand their health situation.
Dr Lundberg is especially interested in diagnostic dilemmas and in supporting clients as they decide among treatment options so that their choices reflect their values and goals.
Dr. Lundberg completed her B.A. at Harvard, medical school and residency at the U. of Wisconsin-Madison, and fellowship in infectious diseases at the U. of Colorado.
